For a very long time I have been intrigued by the idea of intelligent machines. I studied it, piddled around with it, developed a few ideas of how to go about building one, but never had any focus. Then, around two years ago (2017 ish) I discovered some old articles on the subject in very early issues of Byte magazine:
Ernest Kent -- The Brains of Men and Machines
William Powers -- The Nature of Robots
James Albus -- A Model of the Brain for Robot Control
Those articles fit perfectly with my internal model of how to proceed, and added a great deal to my understanding; they gave me focus and direction.

This series of posts will be an ongoing log of my experiments, oriented like a tutorial for anyone who wants to follow along as I experiment and learn. If you have any comments, feel free to contact me.
